Royal Coast Labs owns every product it builds and runs them together. Here is each one, what stage it is at, and what it is for.
Caddie
An AI workspace for college instructors. It drafts grading feedback against the instructor's own rubric, and a privacy vault trained on the course removes students and the people in their lives before any AI model reads the work.
Faculty already paste student work into consumer chatbots because grading takes the hours they do not have. Institutions cannot approve that. Caddie is built so they can: the protection is part of how it works, not a promise in a contract.

Where it stands
- Stage: proof of concept, live at caddiereader.com and invite only. It has only ever read invented student writing and is not in any classroom.
- Next: faculty design partners in Rochester, and the accuracy target the vault must meet before it reads real student work.
- Who pays: individual instructors and departments first, then institutions.
- Role in the lab: the lead product. The lab expects to hold it and grow it.
The Olive Branch Review
A hub for readers and a community for writers. Members publish stories, poems, plays, essays and reviews of music, film, television and food, and give each other feedback on their work.
The OBR is open to anyone with original writing to share. It runs themed writing competitions and publishes The Olive Branch Review Quarterly. It is the anchor of Royal Coast Media, the lab's media wing, and the product the lab has run the longest.
Where it stands
- Stage: live since 2023.
- How it earns: The Store @TheOBR, which sells merchandise and writing goods such as journals, planners and tote bags.
- Role in the lab: the lab's longest-running product, held as the anchor of its media wing.
LegacyMGMT
A realism-first life and dynasty simulator, where players build a fortune and a family that outlast three generations.
It has been updated steadily since launch, from version 1.7 to 1.8.8, including fixes for issues players reported in their reviews.
Where it stands
- Stage: live on the App Store since July 2026.
- How it earns: in-app purchases.
- Role in the lab: the lab's first shipped product. It stays in the portfolio as long as it pays its way.

Work that is not a product, yet or ever.
What we are testing
Ideas get a working prototype quickly, built to answer one question. The current one turns an unstructured description of a busy week into a plan a person would follow. Most prototypes are shelved. The few that pass their test become products.
Simon
A research system for studying how a trading model should report its own performance, including the periods it was wrong or unsure. It is not a product, it is not available outside the lab, and it does not provide investment advice.
Every product here goes through the same stages: a one-page pitch, a prototype, a live test with a price, growth, and a yearly decision to hold it, hand it to a buyer who can take it further, or retire it.
